Bath Dental Implants - The Process
If you have lost one or more teeth and have been deemed a suitable candidate for our Bath dental implant procedure, the process below will be followed. It is worth keeping in mind that the dental implant process may vary depending on the severity of the treatment needed.
1. Consultation – where our dental team will talk you through the process and take any initial scans of your teeth and gums. This may include X-rays and 3D scans – with this information we will develop a treatment plan for you.
2. Treatment – the surgery will often take around an hour for each implant, where the titanium implant will be placed into your jawbone, just below the gums.
3. Crown fitting – after the implant has healed (which can take up to three months) your crown will be fitted. First, a healing crown will be screwed to the implant, allowing the gums to form a tight seal around where the long-term crown will be placed. Then, your bespoke crown will be fitted to the implant.
While the process can take several months to complete, once healed you will be left with a high-quality, permanent replacement tooth.
