Composite Filler For Abrasion Repair

What Is Tooth Abrasion?
Tooth abrasion, which is what this patient was suffering with on three of their upper teeth, is where the enamel starts to erode. This could be due to several factors, but most often due to external force, caused by:

- Too much pressure when you brush your teeth

Tooth abrasion happens over an extended period of time and you may not see the effects at first. However, you may start to see notches or missing parts of enamel near your gum line. The missing enamel exposes the inner layers of your tooth, which can cause increased sensitivity in the tooth, making eating hot, cold, sweet or sour foods painful.

Enamel cannot repair itself once damaged, so, to restore the tooth’s structure, appearance and integrity, composite restoration can be applied.
